Another look at J.H. House Elementary!

We would like to share more images of this exciting educational project that is a true testament to interdisciplinary collaboration within our practice. Our Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, Experiential Graphic Design, and Contract Administration teams came together to help create this unique school in Rockdale County, Georgia.

This 108,531 SF two story school features a large scale wall-mounted “measuring stick” that allows children to compare their height with animals, multiple collaborative spaces offering teachers the flexibility to teach outside of the classroom, and large format graphics to aid in teaching and to foster school spirit amongst the students.

Completed in April 2021, this mid-century influenced building replaced the previous J.H. House Elementary School in its entirety to offer students and staff a new environment in which to flourish. The building design provides a large amount of natural lighting throughout public spaces and instructional units and includes an open Media Center, a viewing “crow’s nest” and a “back porch” to inspire student’s imaginations for decades to come!
