Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort Expansion Grand Opening!

Members of the Smallwood project team were excited to join leadership from the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, DreamCatcher Hotels, and other project partners to celebrate the Grand Opening of The Cherokee at Harrah’s Cherokee Resort on October 1st! The completed $330 million expansion project includes a 725-guestroom hotel tower, 83,000 sq. ft. Convention Center including ballroom and exhibition space, as well as dining options such as Guy Fieri’s Cherokee Kitchen+Bar.

Smallwood provided architecture, landscape architecture, and experiential graphic design services for this impactful project that seamlessly weaves together classic, timeless design with themes derived from the EBCI culture and the surrounding flora. Beginning with the dramatic two-story, open air lobby, guests throughout the space are continuously immersed in views of the surrounding Great Smoky Mountains and Soco Creek, making The Cherokee a truly unique and memorable destination.
