James S. Van Duys, RA


Jim has over thirty-five years of professional experience in Planning, Design and Construction Management of large, Mixed-Use commercial building projects. Jim is respected in the development community as a thoughtful problem solver and team leader, able to develop innovative solutions to complex problems which deliver value for his clients. He is well versed in many project types ranging from Luxury Hospitality, Mixed-Use and Multifamily to Performing Arts Centers, Office Buildings and Convention Facilities.

Jim holds an undergraduate degree in English from Dartmouth College, and received his Architectural training at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where he received his Master of Architecture degree in 1983. Jim also worked in the construction industry for three years between his undergraduate and graduate studies. Jim is a Licensed Architect in Georgia and is active with many design and construction standards organizations and councils.
