Lied Place Residences

Lincoln, Nebraska

A New Landmark for the Capital

The Lied Place Residences is a landmark on the Lincoln skyline, celebrating the intersection of culture and academia in this state capital and college town. The multi-use, high-rise building is located directly across from the Lied Center for Performing Arts and near the main entrance to the University of Nebraska. The tower is comprised of seventeen levels of private, high-end residences stacked over three levels of leasable office space and a lobby level with retail space.

The lobby and café create an active pedestrian environment which is further animated with outdoor seating in the foreground to the main entrance. Various levels of the parking deck are linked to the tower with convenient, direct entrances for residents.

The uniquely narrow footprint of the building is governed by the site geometry which is bounded by an existing parking garage on three sides. The residences benefit from the narrow floor plates as natural daylight reaches the deepest spaces within the units. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide expansive views and a generous sense of space. The slender floor plate is bracketed at each end with residences that benefit from glazing on multiple sides providing great views of the University and surrounding area.

The base of the 253-foot-tall concrete structure is partially clad in granite. The upper levels are clad with a window wall system and painted metal panels. The distinctive pattern of the façade is a fusion of interior and exterior design influences - composed of a grid of square windows that identifies a modular, organizing principal for the 37 residential units related to the building structure while offering Owners the ability to customize the interior layout of their units to meet unique needs and personal taste. The penthouse residences feature a two-level configuration. Penthouses offer uninterrupted views toward Memorial Stadium and panoramic views of the Nebraska plains.
