To create a contemporary inviting interior that reflects the Four Seasons rebranded image of chic informality while acknowledging the locale heritage and cultural vernacular.

A principal challenge was to bring together the contrasting aspirations of the client and operator. The client wanted a classic contemporary interior that would reflect the classical façade of the architect. The operator wanted something much more contemporary.

Smallwood achieved the meld of styles by allowing a classic contemporary styling to drive the interior architectural elements which would then provide a backdrop to the much more contemporary FF&E, fabrics, and accessories. The use of tone on tone also gave a more modern feel to the interiors while complimenting the classic architectural backdrop.
