Chongqing, China
The project sits on a forested hillside outside Chongqing. Smallwood created a series of chalet styled spaces to complement the Alpine influenced architecture. The guestroom bays allowed the bathroom to be placed down the long axis, freeing up the room to allow a generous work/dining space. The entrance wardrobe becomes a feature element enclosed in glass and acrylic and a wet-room adjacent to the balcony allows uninterrupted views across the landscape.
