As Head Specification Writer, JoAnn produces the Project Manuals for the firm's projects, including the Singapore office. From the beginning of her involvement on each project, JoAnn is able to assist the team with material selections and options, as well as producing the required specifications, bidding and contractual requirements. She meets with the project manager/project architect to discuss all known aspects of the project; and in addition, coordinates the architectural specifications with the work of consultants.
JoAnn has produces abbreviated specifications for lender packages, outline specifications for pricing packages and full, complete specifications for bidding and construction. She has produced Project Manuals for virtually all types of governmental and municipal facilities, commercial, retail, educational, institutional, manufacturing, corporate, mixed use, and transportation projects.
Her additional contributions include developing and maintaining the firm’s office master specification and outline questionnaire, as well as co-managing Smallwood’s Continuing Education Program called S University Lunch and Learns. She is a Professional Member of the Atlanta Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) since 2005. She has served on the Board of Directors as well as serving as President. She is currently on the Board of Directors serving as a Director, Chair’s the Membership Committee and serves as a Director on the Atlanta CSI Foundation Inc.
