St. Johns County, Florida
The headquarters for Ring Power Corporation is located on a 150-acre site on I-95 between Jacksonville and St. Augustine, Florida. The eight-building complex includes an 85,000 SF four-story office building, 40,000 SF parts warehouse, Caterpillar merchandise retail store, parts pick-up counter, Training Center, 80 repair and service bays, engine, and transmission testing facilities, wash rack, paint spray booths, and security center.
Training and continuing education programs are conducted by Ring Power for both their Sales and Service personnel. These programs run on a five-day-a-week schedule so that both Ring Power employees throughout Florida and their overseas customers can remain current with both the new equipment and the repair of equipment already in service. The programs include both hands-on, in-person sessions and distance learning through video means. Training of Service personnel is conducted in three main areas of Engines, Transmissions, and Hydraulic Systems. Full-size units are brought to the climate-controlled training rooms so senior staff can demonstrate diagnostic, assembly and disassembly, and repair procedures for the various models.
Training procedures are put to work in the various repair facilities and shops operated by Ring Power. Each service bay has a 40’ clear height and is equipped with an overhead crane. Many also have jib cranes. Specialty areas include diesel engine and transmission rebuild, with accompanying computer-controlled dynamometers for testing. Other areas are dedicated to hydraulic system overhaul, battery processing, paint booths, electrical systems, welding, and tire repair. Ring Power, in addition to their Caterpillar construction equipment, also repairs and services various models of over-the-road trucks, school buses, and electrical generation units.
