New Life for an Abandoned Site

Sun Lake City is a mixed use lakefront community, planned on the reclamation of an abandoned tin mine. The project emphasizes the use of existing water bodies to encourage active recreational lifestyle choices and accommodates a new town district of approximately 34,000 people. The crater of the abandoned tin mine forms a large lake, central to the focus of the planning. Each building is arranged to have direct access to a crater body, thereby connecting each building in the community to the others.

This new town project is located along Shah Alam Expressway with PJS 9/1 Road to its east and BRT Sunway Line on the northern border. In the middle of the site is a huge Lake. The site area is 659,600 SM, totaling 1,210,730 SM GFA with a Plot Ratio of 1.85.

This project offers a wide range of residential types, from the spacious landed villas to high-rise condominiums (756,900 SM of condominiums, 155,800 SM of lakefront townhouses, and 42,030 SM private villas). Each residential precinct will have its own private clubhouse. 

Apart from residential development, the project is complemented by 170,000 SM Grade "A" office towers, 50,000 SM multipurpose office/retail/restaurants, 2,500 SM of neighborhood retails, 10,000 SM for the monorail headquarters, 8,000 SM of spa, and a 3,000 SM kindergarten.
